Club Series+ Elliptical Cross-Trainer

I am extremely disappointed with the elliptical we recently purchased. The resistance and glide on this brand‑new unit are noticeably higher and stiffer than expected.

I was informed there is no way to adjust or reduce the baseline resistance, which is unacceptable. How can you offer a machine with resistance levels up to 25 when an average‑sized person can barely use level 1?

A disclaimer should be noted and clarified on your website that the average user is only expected to operate at Level 1. If higher levels aren’t intended for general use, it raises the question of why 25 levels exist at all if only one is realistically usable? It comes across as misleading and borders on false advertising.

This is a follow on to an ealier review, before I got the elliptical trainer serviced and repaired by a profesional. Now that it's functioning, I just want to give this a more balanced review/opinion. For starters this is a very heavy and solid exercise machine. This is a major plus for me. While it is very hard to move around, the frame has almost no flex or movement. It's on par with gym-level exercise equipment. The SE3 display is very crisp and colorful, and the touch screen is reasonably sensitive. I do like that it includes walking trails and routes, and that Life Fitness does not try to upsell you into a monthly contract for software content. The stride is smooth and steady, but is not adjustable except for the resistance level. Having the opportunity to take a look inside (during the service), the build quality is very good. However in my case, the harness connectors loosened and came apart during shipping. If the setup documentation was a little better, it would have been much easier to fix. A little connector staking (i.e. glue) would have prevented this from happening at all. I have owned several exercise machines in the past (including a LifeStep 5500), and I would have to say that this is one of the best I have ever owned. I hope to use it for years to come.
