I've had this model for several years now and still use it a lot. Just finished a 5-mile run at lunch today. There are quite a few programs you can set up and different levels of difficulty for each program. Choose your speed, your time, whether you're shooting for cardio improvement, interval, or strength training. Put a USB stick in it to keep your workout data. Name your pleasure. It will tell you when to lubricate the band. The deck is SOLID. This isn't a flimsy piece of equipment that you're going to deep-six in a year. It's fitness center quality and will hold up for a long time. I don't use the iPod dock, so can't comment on that. But I have it set up in front of a 55" TV and a stereo and have no problems running with headphones on. I also have space, so I never fold it up. But if you do, be sure you take the cord off or you'll break the outlet on the machine. Holding up well after hundreds of hours and hundreds of miles. Get one.
