I found the life fitness bike at the gym and loved how smooth it was. I have just received one so I can't speak to its reliability over time, but the bike itself is great. It was a bear to set up. You need multiple tools including a torque wrench and my husband stripped 2 bolts which I've never seen him do. He thinks perhaps they got paint inside of the bolt holt causing the issue. So then it took another day to buy the proper tool to retool the bolt holes. The way the bike works is it gives you your exercise metrics on s screen that's about 3x6. Then you download an app on your phone. Then you must ride with the app on the handlebars next to the bike so the app can tell you what to do and you follow along with the metric reader. The workouts on the app are excellent. They are an added cost. Not as expensive as peloton. There are 3 choices to apps: coach (studio), scenery, or music. They all do the same thing and show you what level to be in. Your level is determined by a power test, and there are 3 power tests included on the bike. That is your FTP. Then the app tells you what percentage of ftp to work out at making it very easy to get an amazing workout. I am really really loving the rave music. It's very motivating.
