The build quality and adjustability of this bike is great, and it was easy to fit for my wife and myself. The frame is rock solid and peddling is smooth as is expected for a bike in the this price range. I've heard some complaints about noise, but not so on my bike. I really like the lighter weight flywheel - our old bike had a 45lb flywheel that felt like it would rip your legs off during a quick stop.
There are some issues though:
1) The SPD pedal clips are cheap, noisy, and clunky. My mountain bike has real Shimano clips that are very silent and easy to get in and out of. These grab onto your foot like a rattley bear trap, and I could see someone with weak ankles being injured trying to get out of them. I'll be replacing the pedals at some point.
2) There seems to be a complete lack of basic instructions on how to start using the app along with the control panel. Start up needs to be done in a precise sequence, otherwise it fails to connect to programs in the app and you have to stop and start over (very annoying). Not rocket science, but it took quite a while to figure this out. A short Youtube video showing how to connect the app to the bike, which modes have to be set (Power Training) and how to set them, how to adjust FTP, and start training sessions is badly needed.
3) I could not get any of the the premium app features to reliably work with my 5 year old Lenovo tablet. I was never able to complete one of the video training sessions without the app crashing or…
